The Fleming Collection gallery was created to give the British public greater access to Scottish Art and promote Scotland ’s artistic achievements in a London venue.

With this in mind The Fleming Collection aims to provide an education programme to compliment the ambitious public exhibitions it organises, both in the gallery and at other venues. This includes events for adult learning and activities for school pupils, young children and families. If you are an education professional and have any suggestions or would like to run your own event at The Fleming Collection please contact us.

Children’s Activities

As a small friendly gallery, The Fleming Collection is an ideal place to visit with children on Saturdays or during the school holidays. Activities include the following;

‘Independent Investigators’- always available

The Fleming Collection Children’s Exhibition Pack provides children with the opportunity to explore the paintings in each exhibition. Questions and drawing activities will encourage children to learn more about the artists, examine the subject matter and have a go at being creative themselves.

Art Cart- Saturdays & school holidays

Children have the chance to delve into the resources of the gallery’s Art Cart and create their own works of art. Paper, collage materials, pencils, crayons, scissors and glue are provided. Please note that children must be supervised by an adult.

School Educational Visits- Mondays (term time)

Please consider The Fleming Collection as the next venue for a school visit. The gallery is closed to the public every Monday allowing us the unique opportunity to invite school children (primarily Key stages 2 & 3) to use the gallery. Activities include a ‘Look & Learn’ interactive tour of paintings in the current exhibition and creative workshops on portraiture and colour. Visits can be entirely tailored to your needs, incorporating themes that you are currently teaching.

For more information on Children’s Activities please contact Evelyn Gladstone on 020 7409 5733.
