The Foundation aims to raise the profile of Scottish art, which is poorly represented in museums and galleries outside Scotland, by introducing it to a wider audience. Four exhibitions, open to the public free of charge are held at the gallery ever year and many exhibitions tour further afield. The intention is that The Fleming Collection shall remain a living collection through further acquisitions, focusing in particular on young Scottish artists. The Fleming-Wyfold Art Foundation accepts donations towards paintings acquisitions, conservation and the exhibitions it organises. The Foundation is entirely funded by charitable foundations, companies and individuals and receives no public funding.
